2024 September Campout: Wilderness Survival

This campout is being planned by the Beaver Patrol Leader and Mr. D'Arcy

 

Campout Planning Meeting: September 16 at 7pm. Attendance at campout planning meeting is required to attend the campout.

Grub is $20 per person, please bring $5's and $1's and give to your patrol leader. 

 

We will be camping Friday night and returning Sunday morning. AOL scouts and parents are invited to join for a weekend of camping. AOL scouts will join in the patrol method of camping and see how a BSA troop works.  

 

Forms Required:

  • Troop Permission Slip (Is electronic and attached to signup form)
  • Youth Protection Training (must be current) - All Adults attending must be a registered adult of BSA to attend campout
  • BSA Medical Forms (A, B1, B2) (must be current) - All Attendees

I give permission for my Scout to attend Troop 1299’s Wilderness Survival Campout listed above.

  • I understand that my Scout must be at Suncreek United Methodist Church by 5:30 pm on Friday, in a clean scout uniform (including a troop t‐shirt), with all of his gear packed and ready to go for a prompt 6:00pm departure. We will return Sunday at approximately 12:00 PM AT BOON ELEMENTARY. Parents will receive a text 30 min prior to arrival. 
  • I understand the following points are required in order for my Scout to attend this event.
    • RX: I understand I need to provide any prescriptions my Scout will need to take during the event to the acting Adult Medic, in a zip lock bag, in the original container, with specific instructions on exact dosage and frequency (AM/PM, Hourly, etc.).
    • Medical devices: I understand a requirement to participate in 1299 activities is for any medical history listed on my medical form, I must physically show the Scoutmaster or the Troop Medic my doctor prescribed “on person” medical safety device, such as an inhaler for asthmatic reactions, or Epi‐pens for allergies, etc.
    • I understand this must take place prior to the beginning of the activity and if I do not have the medical device, I will not be allowed to attend the event.
  • Scouts are allowed to bring personal snacks and drinks to this event if the driver allows.
  • Electronics (iPod, DVD player, games) are NOT permitted on this campout, phones will be left in cars.
    • In case of emergency Adult Leaders will have phones that scouts may contact parents with.
  • I understand that safety and concern for others and the appropriate conduct as a Scout throughout this event is a top priority and I have discussed this with my Scout. If any problems arise, I may be reached at the number below to be asked to assist in resolving the issue.
  • I understand all payments and medical forms must be submitted prior to departure.
