Campout: Orientation

Description

ORIENTATION CAMPOUT

March 22 - 24, 2024

This campout is probably the most important campout of the year.  Why?  For those new Scouts that just joined, it is a great opportunity to learn how the troop operates in a camping environment, and you will be able to complete several rank requirements.  For older Scouts, it is your time to shine!  Since scouting is "boy-led" each learning station will be led by older Scouts.

Note to new parents:  Scouts BSA camping is NOT THE SAME as camping in Cub Scouts.  As you learned (or WILL learn!) in the new parent orientation sessions, your son will be camping with other Scouts, not with parents.  In fact, although we love all the help we can get from adult volunteers, we encourage new parents to sit this one out and let your Scout learn to work and camp with other Scouts (young and old) without the temptation to migrate to their parents during the campout.
